
Cumaru is an Amazonian seed with a taste very similar to vanilla, but with a slightly more earthy flavor.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of wheat flour
- 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- 2 teaspoons of baking powder
- 1 egg
- 3/4 teacup of whole milk
- 1 cumaru seed
- 3 tablespoons of butter
- 1 pinch of salt
Method of preparation:
In a pan over low heat, bring the cumaru seed and the milk to boil, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon. Turn off the heat when start to boil and allow to cool.
When the milk is cold, melt the butter and mix with all the other ingredients in the blender or with a fork, until homogeneous. Fry in a non-stick frying pan greased with butter or oil until golden. Serve with jelly of your choice.
Preparation time: 1 hour.
