Cabdrivers in session

During the last spun-around week in Sao Paulo and Rio (speaking with a range of people from entrepreneurs, media minds, urban planners, investors and my favorite . . . taxi drivers)

A few of the things I’ve come across in taxis conversations (yellow cars in Rio, white in Sao Paulo):

– A driver told me one can make a decent amount of money driving (in Rio) – if he doesnt take much of a break for lunch and dinner, he can get close to 9,000 reais per month. This is probably exaggerated at least a decent bit, but if it shoots him into classe A, the top income bracket, (even if it is in his own mind) it says something about his mental perspective and perceived opportunity set

– One driver has saved enough money to go to the U.S. and take a month course on Harley Davidson mechanic techniques. He owns…
