On October 27th 2012, Meitheal Mid West and The Workers Cooperative Network held a day of seminars on worker cooperatives and cooperative banking, in the University of Limerick Kemmy Business School, with the aim of encouraging and growing a cooperative economy for Limerick and Ireland.

The seminars also marked the launch of Limerick’s first multi stakeholder cooperative (MSC) focused on the renewable energy, intensive commercial horticulture and retail sectors. The MSC is part of the Interreg “Cooperatives for Growth” bid.
