Cremation of a falla sculpture in Valencia, Spain

Valencia’s Las Fallas celebration grand finale. La Crema (the cremation) is the night when the fallas’ brief, brilliant lives go up in raging flames and plumes of smoke. This falla (sculpture) took a year to create, was on display for 5 days, and this 2 minute video shows its cremation. Difficult to believe but true: every year about 350 adult fallas (huge) and 350 children’s fallas (smaller) are built in Valencia and then put to the torch. Parental Guidance: The video might make you very sad if you’re sentimental about artwork.
