    I never thought of it, but once you point it out, the influence of African masks and figures on Picasso seems so obvious! And what an enriching influence! (Btw, that narrative note that Picasso “held the sculpture in his hands all night” still has me laughing at the thought of Pable curled up in his pajamas with the sculpture 🙂 )
