Last weekend the lead researcher of a group using data from the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) to calculate the current rate of expansion of the Universe (aka the Hubble constant, H0) presented their results for the first time at an American Physical Society meeting. What they announced was not at all what everyone was expecting… DISCLAIMER: None of this work is published yet. It has not been peer reviewed. Take everything with a large pinch of scientific salt.
