That’s a bit weird, there is hardly any cheese, only people rolling and getting hurt.

That cheese is around a metre in diameter (at least the one I saw was), and its up to the competitors what technique they use to reach the bottom (they don’t seem to be hot on health & safety in a lot of their traditions – but very few get hurt) – and they relax into it!
