Oleg Timofeyev was one of the first Russians to travel abroad after the fall of the Iron Curtain when he left Moscow for the University of Iowa in 1989. In 2006, Oleg launched the Russian 7 String Guitar Festival and established Iowa as the center of the Russian guitar revival.
