You aren’t getting it’: farmer urges public to stay away from fields


A Scottish sheep farmer has pleaded with the public to follow the government’s guidance to stay at home in order to prevent putting farmers ‘trying to provide for the nation’ at risk of coronavirus. Speaking in a video posted on Facebook, Emma Murdoch said: ‘Every gate you touch, every stile you touch, if you have the virus you are giving it to a farmer.’ She also urged people to stop panic-buying and support local produce. ‘We are trying our best to give you milk, meat, veg, eggs, everything. As for our nation, I think it’s proved you need the British farmer,’ she said
