Manchester on Lockdown

Footage of Manchester, UK, during the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown. Shot on my way home from work in the city. The places shown are some of the busiest places in the city and would usually be teeming with people and cars during rush hour.
The streets instead are almost empty. What few people there are walk around with face masks and gloves, or hurry from one place to another. Others just stop to take it all in. What few sounds there are are haunting and hollow.

  1. That does look weird … it’s normally so busy outside The Old Wellington on a sunny day.

Its also very quiet. The Trams and buses are still providing a reduced service (but people are unwilling to use them to the extent that the regional Mayor is asking for help to cover the costs from central government since its funded by fares) and flocks of confused pigeons wander their usual spaces…
