Rochester – Dickensian Christmas Festival Parade 2021 | Voted Best UK’s Christmas Day Out

Perhaps the best Christmas event in the UK – The Rochester Dickensian Christmas Festival 2021. The Festival was voted one of the UK’s Best Family-Friendly Christmas Days Out by The Times Newspaper.

Held each year in Rochester, Kent, UK to coincide with the Christmas market in Rochester Castle Gardens.
The weekend offers live performances, the Rochester funfair and a Bavarian food village.

Our walk begins in Rochester High Street where the Dickensian Christmas
Festival takes place and ends at Rochester Cathedral and Castle.
The Rochester Christmas parade is full of familiar characters from the works of Charles Dickens. Everyone dresses up in their finest Victorian or Dickensian outfits for the parade.
The festivities include street entertainment and open-air carol concerts.

The finale of the festival is the Dickensian candlelight Parade
through the High Street culminating in Christmas carols outside the
Cathedral.
