Chuck this straw into your pocket before heading out on your next adventure.

Clean water, unfortunately, is a resource that many take for granted. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) estimates that two billion individuals lack access to safe drinking water. Addressing this critical issue, Swiss company Vestergaard developed the LifeStraw in 2005. This innovative straw offers a practical and dependable solution for acquiring clean drinking sources in the most challenging environments.

After several years, LifeStraw is receiving a new upgrade that turns it into the perfect traveling buddy that can fit right inside your pocket with the Peak Solo.

The straw has a two-stage filtration system that can effectively eliminate bacteria, protozoa, microplastics, chemicals, odors, and unpleasant tastes from water sources. The impurities are captured through a hollow fiber membrane, the first barrier, that will filter out waterborne bacteria and protozoan parasites. Next, it incorporates an activated carbon filter that eliminates contaminants, ensuring a refreshing, safe drinking experience.

The filtration technology allows users to drink directly from various water sources, including streams, rivers, or stagnant ponds, without additional equipment or containers. The upgraded version now comes with a filtration capacity of 264 gallons, which could get any intrepid traveler through several outdoor adventures and aid countless communities without them constantly replacing the device.
