I wanted to ask you something, the festival where your Samba school was represented at the march through the city centre, was that the “Streets apart” festival?
My husband and I want to plan a trip to England and Scotland next summer and thought to stop by for something special in Manchester. The Caribbean festival doesn’t sound bad either … there are so many festivals in Manchester, and 18 days International Festival? That’s the city to be a retiree in …

The festival was called Manchester Day but the City council have just changed it so it doesn’t have a parade anymore! We played a small role in Manchester International Festival last week, and will still play in one of our central squares later this month, but I don’t know what their future plans are…
We played a previous festival called “Streets Ahead” for many years until it wasn’t hosted in Manchester anymore.

I am sorry to hear that. Maybe we will try the Caribbean festival then in August, that sounds also good. I did see that some have made their own festival, Thai, Japan and others. But I liked the idea of a festival of everybody together. Well, it is what it is.
