When The World Abandoned Aesthetics. Why is our modern world so ugly? Have you ever considered how we progressed from ornate marble columns, arches, and buttresses, to concrete monolithic structures polluting our skylines?

I love modern architecture, I even love concrete, but what dictates beauty is adherence to depth. To the quality of beauty so unrefined and infinite, it propagates serenity in its unadulterated natural form. Our modern sense of beauty is exactly this, but its simplicity is easily mocked and manipulated. Modern form has been perverted by those not at all concerned by the intricacies of beauty in depth, simply the lucrative construction it facilitates.

This idea permeates through all of our consumer culture.
