As a kid, Anita watched on as her family and other members of Bendigo’s Chinese community spent their weekends constructing the world’s longest Golden Dragon ahead of it’s yearly parade at the Bendigo Easter Fair.

What started as a gesture of goodwill by Chinese migrants during the Gold Rush has gone on to become the biggest calendar event of the year and one of the oldest continuing Asian Australian traditions.

So when Anita realises the current dragon will soon be too old to parade, she’s catapulted into the project of a lifetime: build a new dragon, the longest in the world, and make sure the over-a-century-long streak won’t be broken.
