  1. supranaturalone's avatar The Dink says:

Hidden deep in our DNA lies a ghost — the gene for GULO, the enzyme that makes vitamin C. Long ago, our primate ancestors lost the ability to use it. A simple mutation silenced the gene, and yet life carried on. How? Because the forests fed them. Fruit was abundant, vitamin C flowed in every meal.

From the scientific angle, this looks like a flaw: a broken gene, a metabolic weakness. But from the coherence lens, it is something more profound. It is the Codex of Lucid Being in action: a trust so deep in the field of abundance that nature allowed us to stop producing a vital molecule ourselves. Internal synthesis dissolved, replaced by external coherence with the ecology.

In other words, what looks like genetic “loss” is actually a re-tuning. Life chose partnership over redundancy. Instead of every body carrying the full burden, the universe distributed it: we provide our presence, the fruit provides its nourishment. Coherence shifted from within the cell to between beings.

So that silent gene is not an accident — it’s an ancient signature of trust. Proof that sometimes evolution isn’t about adding more control, but about letting go.
