This spooky season, we get an extra treat from one of horror’s masters.

Guillermo del Toro’s seminal fantasy horror classic, Pan’s Labyrinth, is being revived with a 20th-anniversary theatrical re-release on October 9th.

Host Maria Hinojosa speaks with del Toro about the re-release and the film’s themes of fascism, machismo, and violence against women and girls – which still speak to our current times, two decades later.

“Unfortunately, we are at a moment where who we are, our sense of self, our sense of communal self, our very humanity seems to be encroached by the whims of barely socialized trillionaires that don’t understand human behavior or what makes us human,” said del Toro.

The anniversary re-release of Pan’s Labyrinth runs until October 15th, and includes a 3D conversion and the 4K restoration.
