Cologne-based photographer Florian Mueller captures the street scene of Shanghai at night with this series that focuses on tiny storefronts selling a variety of things, sort of like a mini 7-Eleven. The series reflects life in the bustling metropolis that has become one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world—with its glitzy malls, boisterous plazas, and trendy boutiques—but still, the people have managed to carve out a living for themselves with their small shops.
In Shanghai, just around the corner of the fancy shops and bling-bling areas, life takes place on the street. When it is too warm and humid to be indoors, people live, sleep, play and sell their stuff or just chill outside their shops and booths.
