In what’s believed to be the first footage of its kind, a stunningly slow-motion video by Dr. Adrian Smith captures a rare group of insects just as they lift off the ground.   1. That’s some amazing footage! I had no idea that their wings were so flexible, I always thought they were somehow stiff. And very surprising also that they seem to fly vertically first. One of them even started out backwards.
