These series of images of people were taken at bus stops as they wait for their buses. Whereas a decade ago people may be reading newspapers or books while they wait, now the waiting time is predominantly taken up by the mobile phone. It has turned from a technological tool to a social tool. Though people use the mobile phone in many positive ways it has created rifts in peer relationships. The mobile device has become a companion and a friend without which it may be difficult to pass our time. One would rather text someone on the other side of the world than talk to someone sitting on the same bench.[…]
