And yes, I know about “herbata.” Polish got “herbata” from New Latin “herba thea,” or “herb tea,” with “thea” originating from Hokkien “tê.” So it’s a variant of “tea.”
In Tamil the word for tea is “tēnīr”, which doesn’t sound too similar until you find out it’s tea + nīr (water)! So this is also a variant of “tea”!
