Biden is a politician. And, like all politicians, he is moving in the direction that works best for his constituents and the party that he represents, Democrats.
His decisions are rightfully influenced by this foundational fact, complimented by his executive power as president, legacy interest, and his beliefs, his spirit, if you will.
I don’t think that Biden or any man makes one dimensional moves, politicians especially. There are many factors that may drive his decisions, not just one.
One factor not mentioned, is that “the natives”, all over the world, but especially in the US “are getting restless”,
Trump was good in the sense that he exposed that justice, equal rights, and equity in America for the downtrodden is an illusion.
Trump juxtaposed this with the excess, greed, discerption, and disregard of the elite and right wind. Trump introduced Truth Decay to the world. Now it is spreading like a disease.
I believe that the downtrodden have had enough and could become explosive, if the Far Right continues to. This could be catastrophic for the US, with foreign adversaries ‘sitting back in the cut’, waiting to make their moves.
Through Biden’s strong connection with Obama, and based on statistics and facts, I believe that Biden realizes that ‘it’s just not right’! So he goes left.
