Bio: Bruno Moraes, percussionist, director of the Bateria Trophy, commentator srzd.com and lover of samba and its culture! Bruno grew up in Padre Miguel community and plays with the bateria at Mocidade since he was a kid. He lived in portland and played with the Lions of Batucada so he understands what we are working with here in the US. He has an amazing amount of knowledge about samba and carnaval and is a commentator for SRZD.com. He started Troféu Bateria in 2015. Troféu Bateria is a trophy award system to recognize the hard work of the different bateria sections that don’t get as much recognition in the overall judging in the carnaval parades.[…]
