In 1931, Professor Auguste Piccard and his assistant Dr. Kipfer took a trip to Earth’s stratosphere. Despite setback after setback (and being presumed dead by everyone back on the ground), they were able to both set a new altitude record and help prove where a bunch of mysterious radiation was coming from.
