A third of the world’s food goes to waste, but France is attempting to do something about it. Since 2016, large grocery stores in the country have been banned from throwing away unsold food that could be given away. In Copenhagen are several activities with regard to saving food. A private initiative that collects food from stores and has a location where poor people can come and get it free of charge. The people who work there, are all volunteers. And another private initiative (a young man), who started food sharing via smartphone or something like that. We don’t have anything like that in our neck of the woods. But we don’t throw food away.
