Scientists from the Netherlands and Germany have proposed to construct two massive dams to protect some 25 million people from rising sea levels. The megaproject stretches between the United Kingdom, France, Norway, and would completely enclose the North Sea. So, is this plan viable or is it as overwhelming and unrealistic as it seems?

I cannot help wondering what would happen to the west coast of Britain, Ireland and the small islands. If the water is being kept out, they will be flooded more, won’t they?

Seems like they have not thought it 100% through, does it not? They did in a comparatively small scale at the Dutch coast, but such huge dams would have a very large impact.
