Stockport has been ‘flying high’ recently! Development has been moving fast: new apartments, new roads, a new transport interchange, and lots more planned, including a huge upgrade for Stockport railway station and the Metrolink expansion to Stockport town centre.

Climbing aboard the @Cinemaker drone we’ll take a flight along the five mile route that, I believe, Metrolink trams will take between East Didsbury, the current end of the line, and Stockport.
I mention the Cyanlines project, which has not yet reached Stockport. It is planned to develop paths people on foot or on wheels across the Greater Manchester conurbation
We’ll go for a walk the area west of Stockport Railway Viaductr viaduct that’s being transformed from a former industrial area into a residential district.
I have good local knowledge as I grew up in the Cheadle Heath and Edgeley district of Stockport and was fascinated by my local area even as a five-year-old! I have a personal interest in how modern urban planning shapes the place we live in.
I didn’t mention the Stockport Mayoral Development Corporation, but I’ll look at that in more detail in another video.
