Last night Manchester School of Samba helped inaugurate a new square in Salford (the older sister of Manchester right next door) close to city centre Manchester.
Last night we looked like this:

From Salford City Council’s website:
Bounded by Chapel Street, Gravel Lane and Sacred Trinity Church and a stone’s throw from Manchester Cathedral, this is a key site in the city’s regeneration. The transformation of 13 hectares of vacant and derelict land will reconnect the historic centre of Salford to Manchester. In partnership with private sector developers the area will be transformed. Realisation of the plan for Greengate will generate between £400 million and £450 million of private investment and 5,200 new jobs. To date around 800 new residential units have been completed within the area since 2006 and a further 500 are likely to come forward over the life time of the project.
