Wait, Scandinavians Actually Speak… Low Saxon?

It may come as a shock to many, but a significant part of the 3 mainland North-Germanic languages are full of Low Saxon loans. A famous researcher once said that Norwegians can’t speak for two minutes without using a Low Saxon word. Without them realising it.

Today, we’ll discover just how profound the influence of Low Saxon was on Scandinavian languages, and whether we can still understand each other.

So: Low Saxon could still function as an international language of all sorts of exchange. If only we took it more seriously.
